About RSG Turkiye
Who Are We?
RSG-Turkiye is a volunteer platform affiliated with the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) Student Council, bringing together students and early-career researchers in computational biology and bioinformatics across Turkey.
Operating entirely on volunteerism since 2011, we are a non-hierarchical community that creates and supports one another. We organize annual student symposiums, monthly webinars with international experts, journal club meetings, and hands-on workshops — connecting young scientists in Turkey with each other and with colleagues around the world.
What Do We Do?

Student Symposiums
Our annual symposium brings students and expert speakers together to present research, exchange ideas, and build connections across institutions.
Webinars
Monthly online talks with researchers from leading centers worldwide — EMBL-EBI, Wellcome Sanger, and more. All recordings are freely available on our YouTube channel.
Student Presentations
Students present their own thesis work or papers to the community, developing both scientific communication skills and a culture of constructive feedback.
Journal Club
We read and discuss current bioinformatics papers together — regular meetups that build academic reading habits and critical thinking.
International Network
Through ISCB Student Council membership, opportunities to connect with researchers worldwide and participate in international conferences.
Opportunity Sharing
MSc, PhD, and PostDoc positions, scholarships, and conference opportunities shared instantly with members via our Slack channel.
