Abstract

Cancer is a disease of genomic and epigenomic alterations. Single nucleotide changes, copy number variations (CNV), chromosomal rearrangements and modification in DNA methylation together drive the formation of a tumor.

The talk has two parts: the characterisation of non-NF2 meningiomas through integrated genetic and epigenetic analysis, including the mechanisms of atypical meningioma and malignant glioma transformation; and an introduction to CaSpER, an algorithm that identifies, visualises and integrates CNV events at multiscale resolution using single-cell and bulk RNA-sequencing data.
